Interior design interns complete 120 hours of work for a business. This can be undertaken at any point during the year and there is usually no cost to the employer. Students can assist with:

DIPLOMA OF FASHION DESIGN (WINTEC)

Fashion Design interns complete 150 hours of work for a company. Internships can take place throughout the year and there is usually no cost to the employer. Fashion design students are skilled in:

  • Fashion design business practice
  • Fashion production
  • Fashion retail and distribution.

BACHELOR OF CREATIVE TECHNOLGIES - INTERIOR DESIGN (WELTEC)

WelTec offers a technology cadetship programme for selected qualifications. Similar to an apprenticeship, a cadetship programme offers businesses the chance to sponsor a cadet through formal training while the cadet undertakes part-time and holiday work for the company. Interior design cadets can assist with a range of interior design projects, including

  • Detailing and specification
  • Colour and material selection
  • Furniture
  • Technical and CAD drawings
  • Construction management

Interns from WelTec’s Centre for Smart Product are available to undertake industry projects in a range of areas. Projects vary in length and there is usually no cost to the employer. Interns can assist with:

  • Rapid prototyping
  • Manufacturing and process machinery design
  • Usability testing
