WelTec offers a technology cadetship programme for selected qualifications. Similar to an apprenticeship, a cadetship programme offers businesses the chance to sponsor a cadet through formal training while the cadet undertakes part-time and holiday work for the company. IT cadets can undertake a wide-range of projects for business including:
- Software development
- Systems analysis
- Security control
- Networking
- Database management
DIPLOMA IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

CHRISTCHURCH
GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN ICT (CPIT)
ICT students undertake a cooperative education project of up to 200 hours. There is no cost to the employer, although the business is required to supervise them as they would a normal employee. Students can assist with:
- Systems analysis and integration
- Project management
- Network design, development and implementation
- Database design development and administration
- Website design
- Multimedia development
- Software programming and development
- Software usability testing
